|Steamed Napa Cabbage is a tasty low calorie health food notable for being a good source of zinc, as well as vitamins A, C, and calcium. For this dish you will need Napa cabbage, one onion, and a little bit of vinegar which will really accentuate the flavor of the cabbage.|
|Total Preparation and/or Cooking Time: 15 Minutes|
Gather you ingredients, and make sure the Napa cabbage is well washed. Peel off the leaves if necessary.
Get a wok-style pot and add about a 1/4 cup of water to it, and set it on high heat. If you do not have a wok-style pot then a simple pot or saut pan should do fine.
While the water is heating, peel the onion, cut it in half, and then cut it into thin strips.
While the onions are cooking, take the Napa cabbage and cut it into strips also.
Let the onions cook till they are slightly translucent before adding the Napa cabbage.
Once the onions are properly cooked you can add the cabbage to steam. It should only need to steam for about 3 to 5 minutes on high heat. Once the cabbage looks done, turn the heat off and then add 2 to 3 tablespoons of vinegar. Give everything a good stir.
You are now done, enjoy this dish beside brown rice, in flat bread, or with cracked bulgur wheat.
