Can't find what you're looking for?

Nutrition Facts
- Click the seach bar that says "Find Another Food".
- Start typing the name of the food.
- Click or tap to select a food that is the closet for what you searched for.
- If you can't find the food you are looking for try to change the search term. Change "Green Beans" to "Green String Beans"
- If you still can't find the food, you can also try the general site search.
- If you have a different name suggestion, please contact us to let us know.
- Click the serving size listed under the name of the food.
- A drop down menu will appear.
- Click the serving size you want.
- The results will automatically update.
- Click the quantity box under the name. This box has a default value of 1.
- Enter the quantity you would like as a whole number, decimal, or fraction. I.E.: 2 Medium Apples, 1/2 Medium Apple, 0.333 Medium Apple.
- Click Update.
- The results will automatically update.
- Choose a serving size you want to modify. I.E.: "100 grams", "1 oz"
- Change the quantity in the quantity box to create a custom serving size.
For example:
- 3 x 100grams = 300 grams
- 1/2 x 1oz = 1/2 oz
- 0.685 x 100grams = 68.5 grams
- Click the serving size you want.

- The Nutrition Facts Search tool does not have a delete button. Just search for another food to replace it.

- Click "Add 1 Item".
- The item will be added to your favorites list in the "My Foods" section.

- Search for another food to compare.
- Click "View Results".
- Click the "Add to Recipe" button under the food name card.
- Search to add other foods to your recipe.
- Click "View Results".
- Scroll down to "Detailed Nutrition Facts".
- Click a section for the nutrient you want to view. I.E.: Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids, etc.
- Click the header of the section to view the detailed nutrition data.
Comparison Tool

- There is no limit to the number of foods you can add, but we suggest not adding more than 100.

Meal Planner (Tool Pages)

- Click the "Add Items" button to add the food to the meal.

- A modal will appear. From here you can choose new nutrients from the drop down and enter custom targets.
- Click the "x" to delete a nutrient
- Click "Add Another Nutrient" at the bottom of the modal to add another nutrient.
- Click "Apply" at the bottom of modal to save your changes.

- The day plan will be saved on the "My Foods" page. There it can be edited, or deleted.
- You can also add saved day plans to the daily food log.
- Click the Print Icon under the meal plan title.
- Click "Click to Print" at the top of the page. Note that sometimes there may be blank pages, this is to prevent a page break accross a meal plan.
Nutrient Ranking Tool
- Using the form select nutrients to rank. You add multiple nutrients and choose whether to rank them by highest or lowest.
- Choose which food groups to rank. You can select more than one.
- Choose a serving size.
- Household - View the ranking of foods by a common serving size. I.E. a single carrot, a tsp of salt, etc...
- 200 cals - View the ranking of foods by calorie. Each food will be listed and sorted by a 200 calorie serving size.
- 100 grams - View each food by nutrient density. Each food will be listed and sorted by a 100 gram serving size.
- 100 grams - View each food by nutrient density. Each food will be listed and sorted by a one ounce serving size.
- Select database to sort by. You can select more than one. There is a "More info" link by the datases to explain more.
- Click the check box by each food you want to compae, print, or save.
- A menu will appear at the top of the sceen.
- Choose the option of compare, print, or save.
- Click the name of the food to see the nutrition facts page.
- Scroll down to the Data Source section.
- Click the Source link to view the original data in the USDA website.
- You can copy and paste the link to share the ranking view you created.
Nutrient Ratio Tool
- Using the form select a nutrient to rank as highest, and one as lowest.
- Choose food groups. (i.e. Fruits, Vegetables, etc...)
- Select database to sort by. You can select more than one. There is a "More info" link by the datases to explain more.
- Click the check box by each food you want to compae, print, or save.
- A menu will appear at the top of the sceen.
- Choose the option of compare, print, or save.
- Click the name of the food to see the nutrition facts page.
- Scroll down to the Data Source section.
- Click the Source link to view the original data in the USDA website.
- You can copy and paste the link to share the ranking view you created.
Branded Foods Search
- Use the search box to search for a brand.
- Click and select the brand from the search box.
- A list of foods from that brand will appear.
- Click the name of the food to see the nutrition facts page.
- Scroll down to the Data Source section.
- Click the Source link to view the original data in the USDA website.
- You can copy and paste the URL link in the address bar to share the list of foods from any brand.
My Foods User Page
- On the My Foods Page you can save foods to favorites, you can also organize and edit recipes, meals, and meal plans.
- Any favorites, recipes, meals, and day plans you store can be selected when you add foods to the Daily Food Log.
- Click the + button to add nutrients to your My Foods table.
- Click on the food to view it.
- Change the serving size or quantity in the food list.
- Click "Update" in the top right to save the change.
- Click the tab above the table for the appropriate section.
- Click the "Add" button on the top left of the food table.
- Click the name of the recipe, meal, or day plan in the table.
- Make changes.
- Click the "Save" button to overwrite changes or "Save As New" to create a new recipe or meal.
- Click the check mark beside a food name to select it. You can select multiple foods.
- A menu will appear at the top of the page.
- Click the trash can icon to delete the selected foods.
- Click the food name in the food table.
- Use the check marks to select 2 or more foods, recipes, or meals.
- Click the "Compare" button at the top of the page.
Daily Food Log
- Click "Add Food" in the meal you want to add the food to.

- Search to find a food. You can also choose from your favorite foods, recipes, meals, and dayplans.

- Once you have added a food, the daily nutrition summary will appear.
- Click the "Settings" button below the "Daily Nutrition Summary" title.

- You can also add saved day plans to the daily food log by clicking "Day plans" from the add foods modal.
- Click the calendar icon in the top right of the page and browse to the date you want to view.
- Click the Print Icon on the right of the calendar.
- Click "Click to Print" at the top of the page. Note that sometimes there may be blank pages, this is to prevent a page break accross a meal plan.
Weekly Food Log
- Be signed in to your account. If you don't have an account, you can
create one for free.
- Once you have added 7days of meals to the food log you can see the weekly view.
- The four nutrients displayed are the summary nutrients for the day. They will be the first four nutrients you select in the Daily Nutrient Summary of the food log.
- To change the week, use the left and right arrows, otherwise click the calendar icon in the top menu.
- To print click the print icon in the top menu.
- NOTE: Nutrient totals can be higher if you treat missing data as equal to 0.

Food Log Trends
- Be signed in to your account. If you don't have an account, you can
create one for free.
- Once you have added 7 - 28 days of meals to the food log you can see the trend summary.
- The default is for 7 days, however, you can use the drop down from the top menu to select 28 days.
- Trends for nutrients you selected in the daily nutrient summary will appear.
- The percentages will also be set based on the targets you set in the daily nutrient summary.
- Statistics for the max, average, and total value will be displayed.
- To change the date, click the calendar icon in the top menu.
- To print click the print icon in the top menu.
- NOTE: Nutrient totals can be higher if you treat missing data as equal to 0.

Enter a Custom Food
- To enter a new food fill in the form on the food entry page.
- Once you have filled in all relevant information, click the "Save" Button at the top of the page.
- The food will be saved to your favorites.
- You do not need to enter data for every field.
Only the name, serving size, serving weight, calories, protein, carbs, and fat are required. All other data is optional.

Edit a Food
- Change the value in the form on the food edit page.
- If it is a food you have not entered, the edits will only appear to you, and will not affect the data of the original food other people see.
